The Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP), the world's largest regional trade agreement was signed on 15 November 2020. RCEP is a free trade agreement among 15 Asia-Pacific countries of Australia, Brunei, Cambodia, China, Indonesia, Japan, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, New Zealand, the Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Thailand, and Vietnam.
RCEP aims to establish a unified rule system for member countries to accelerate the flow of goods, technology, services and capital for regional trade.
While the RCEP Agreement is anticipated to come into force from 2022, it will serve as a pivotal tool to accelerate access into regional markets and mitigate interruptions to supply chains.
